A subgroup of World Confederation for Physical Therapy

Dear IFOMPT Family,

IFOMPT, like many of you, are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation. The IFOMPT executive committee are regularly monitoring current information from the Centers for Disease Control, local and state governments, the World Health Organisation and other available public health resources.  IFOMPT looks forward to seeing you at our upcoming conference in Melbourne. We are hopeful that this crisis will subside in time to assure safe travel and conference participation in October 2020. The worldwide impact of COVID-19 continues to evolve, and IFOMPT will inform our members of any future decisions regarding the conference as soon as decisions are made.  IFOMPT has been in regular communication with our event partners in Australia. The well-being of conference attendees is the highest priority of IFOMPT and our industry partners who remain diligent in their commitment to provide a safe, hospitable environment for all IFOMPT events.  Physical Therapists are encouraged to do their part to keep their employees, patients, students, and themselves healthy. Each country has their own strategies and guidelines to assure safety that we encourage all members to continue to monitor and implement.  As the impact of the COVID-19 continues to evolve, IFOMPT will continue to share general information and provide updates on possible impacts to the IFOMPT community. Kind Regards,  Ken Olson, IFOMPT President

IFOMPT 2020 Postponement: New Dates: 19 – 21 September 2022

The IFOMPT Executive alongside the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) on behalf of its member group and member organisation of IFOMPT, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Association (MPA) have been closely monitoring the COVID – 19 outbreak worldwide in relation to the IFOMPT 2020 conference, scheduled to take place in Melbourne, Australia on 6 – 8 October 2020.

Given that the situation has now rapidly evolved in Australia in line with the experiences in the rest of the world, combined with the health, societal and economic impact of the pandemic worldwide, we have decided to postpone the IFOMPT conference until Monday 19 – Wednesday 21 September, 2022.

The work that has already been done in planning for the IFOMPT conference will be transferred to 2022. Further details will be communicated directly with all invited speakers and accepted abstract presenters once the Scientific Committee has met.

We will be in contact with all registered delegates as well as exhibitors and sponsors regarding the arrangements for IFOMPT 2022. Full refunds will be available on application. Further information about new dates, abstract submissions, registration and accommodation will be provided via email and the website in due course.

We ask each of you to look after yourself and those around you. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
